The group commissioned Allen Archaeology to carry out a magnetometer survey on land to the east of the Roman Villa in December 2020 which identified a small enclosure feature extending from the Roman Villa Site and a continuation of feature from the field to the south consistent with evidence of iron smelting which has already been identified to the Middle Iron Age through XRF analysis.
