In April 2021 the group commissioned Allen Archaeology to follow up on the August 2020 geophysical survey with a two day excavation of seven trial trenches. This revealed more evidence of Iron Age occupation extending from the Roman Villa site towards Folly Lane and Villa Farm as well as evidence of metal working
